ABOUT THE PROJECT

The US Antarctica Program is one of the National Science Foundation’s richest scientific research programs in one of the most vital geographic regions in the world. Their website lacks the appeal and wonder the region provokes in the general public, so the National Science Foundation needed a strategy and conceptual design to help inform its next steps.

I conducted design research with members of the general public, Antarctica researchers, and support personnel to understand their needs and goals. This led to a revamped information architecture that invites exploration, and a highly visual conceptual design that changes with the seasons.
